The Vision 

Woodbrook is far more than just another new housing development...

In the year 2000, the Carvill Group and their design team started the design process for their largest and most innovative development to date. The vision was to create a new village development, breaking the mould of conventional development over the past 30 years. By looking back in time to the traditional village settlement, the Carvill Group have designed a Village where the car does not take precedence. The roads and footpaths are thoughtfully laid out to make journeys by foot, both pleasant and practicable.

Woodbrook will create a real community that features a traditional mix of different house types as well as retail stores, office space, community facilities, people friendly streets, a park to include a fully equiped children´s play area located opposite a proposed creche and recreational facilities in Phase 2.

You cannot say ‘This could be anywhere’ Woodbrook has been designed to offer a compelling alternative for those dissatisfied with conventional development. Woodbrook will offer the opposite to this, designed to emphasise community interaction, walkability, mixed uses, community, diversity and quality over quantity. The Carvill Group believe that Woodbrook will strike the right note with today’s community needs.

Every community needs a focus, and the village green is a powerful symbol of a settlement. As a community grows over time, varied areas develop, giving our towns and villages their familiar feel.

Like a traditional settlement, Woodbrook has a defined centre and housing areas each with their own specific character, ranging from winding village streets to a wide formal avenue of houses.
